CHEFP90/NA Marine Communication Cable – EPR Insulated, Fire Resistant, PCP Sheathed, Galvanized Steel Armor, No Outer Sheath

Product Overview

The CHEFP90/NA is a heavy-duty Fire Resistant (FR) marine communication cable engineered for integration into fully protected containment systems where maximum fire circuit integrity and mechanical strength are required. It features a core of mica glass tape and EPR insulation, a rugged PCP (Polychloroprene) inner sheath, and a galvanized steel wire braid armor. Designed without an outer oversheath (Code 0), this cable is specifically intended for installation inside conduits, sealed trunking, or other protective enclosures, providing a supremely durable and fire-survivable cable core for the most demanding marine and industrial applications.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Uncompromised Fire Survival: Certified to Fire Resistant standard IEC 60331 to maintain functionality of critical circuits during a fire, supported by Flame Retardant (IEC 60332) properties.

  • Maximum Mechanical & Environmental Protection: The galvanized steel wire braid armor (Code 9) offers supreme resistance to crushing, impact, and abrasion. The PCP (Polychloroprene) inner sheath provides excellent resistance to oils, chemicals, ozone, and weathering.

  • Optimized for Contained Installations: The “no outer sheath” (Code 0) design minimizes cable diameter and weight, making it ideal for pulling into and fitting within metal conduits or heavy-duty cable management systems where an external jacket is not required or is provided by the containment.

  • Signal Integrity Assurance: An overall tinned copper braid or foil screen ensures effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding for reliable data and signal transmission.

  • Application Note: This “NA” designated cable meets the core Fire Resistance requirement. For applications specifically requiring Halogen-Free and Low Smoke emission properties, please select the corresponding “NC” graded cables.

Applications

This armored, fire-resistant cable core is designed for integration into fully protected pathways where ultimate durability is needed:

  • Fire-resistant circuits designed for installation within heavy-duty metal conduits or armored trunking on ships, offshore platforms, and in industrial plants.

  • Critical control and instrumentation wiring in power generation, chemical processing, and heavy manufacturing facilities, where cables are installed within protective systems that negate the need for an individual cable outer sheath.
