Product Overview
The CHEFP82/NA is a durable and flexible Fire Resistant (FR) marine communication cable designed for applications that require reliable circuit integrity during fire events along with robust mechanical and environmental protection. It combines a mica glass tape and EPR fire-resistant insulation, a tinned copper wire braid armor, and a dual-layer sheath system of PCP (Polychloroprene) and PVC. This construction provides an excellent balance of fire survival, flexibility, EMI shielding, and resistance to oils and abrasion for demanding fixed installations in marine and industrial environments.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Certified Fire Circuit Integrity: Engineered to meet Fire Resistant standard IEC 60331 and Flame Retardant standards (IEC 60332), ensuring vital systems remain operational during and after a fire incident.
-
Flexible Armor & Complete Sheathing: The tinned copper wire braid armor (Code 8) offers effective mechanical protection and EMI shielding while maintaining good flexibility. The PCP inner sheath provides excellent oil and chemical resistance, while the external PVC outer sheath adds robust general-purpose protection and is available in multiple colors for identification.
-
Superior Environmental & Signal Protection: The dual-sheath system guards against moisture, abrasion, oils, and weathering. An overall tinned copper braid or foil screen ensures protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) for clear signal transmission.
-
Application Note: This “NA” flammability code cable is designed and tested for Fire Resistance (IEC 60331). For projects with specific Halogen-Free and Low Smoke emission requirements, please consult the “NC” designated products in our range.
