The (N)TSKCGEWÖU 3.6/6 (7.2) kV medium voltage trailing cable is engineered for the most demanding open-cast mining applications, including power connection for large material handling machinery such as excavators, dumpers, and crushers. This cable incorporates advanced Kevlar reinforcement and an anti-torsion braid to withstand extreme mechanical stresses associated with continuous flexing on mono spiral and cylindrical reels. Its robust construction ensures reliable performance in harsh outdoor environments with excellent resistance to torsion, impact, and abrasion.

Application

  • For connection of large material handling machines such as excavators, dumpers, crushers in open-cast mines.

  • Cables are suitable for high mechanical stresses in conjunction with mono spiral reels and cylindrical reels.

Construction

The cable features a sophisticated multi-layer construction designed for maximum durability and performance in mining environments:

  1. Conductor: Annealed flexible stranded tin coated copper, Class 5 to IEC 60228 / HD 383.

  2. Separator: If needed, a suitable semi-conductive tape between conductor and insulation.

  3. Conductor Screen: Semi-conductive layer.

  4. Insulation: Ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR) type 3GI3 to DIN VDE 0207 part 20.

  5. Insulation Screen: Semi-conductive layer with maximum resistivity of 200 Ω·m.

  6. Core Assembly: Three power cores, two earth cores, and one pilot core laid up on a cradle separator with Kevlar reinforcement in the center for enhanced tensile and torsion strength.

  7. Semi-conductive Covering: Semi-conductive layer over the assembled core bundle.

  8. Internal Layer of Sheath: A synthetic thermosetting compound type 5GM5 to DIN VDE 0207 part 21.

  9. Anti-torsion Braid: Braid of polyamide threads between internal and outer layer of sheath, providing critical torsion resistance for reel applications.

  10. Outer Layer of Sheath: A synthetic thermosetting compound type 5GM5 to DIN VDE 0207 part 21.
