CEFR82/NA Marine Flexible Power Cable | Fire-Resistant, Full Sheath & Copper Braid (0.6/1kV)

Product Overview

The CEFR82/NA is a heavy-duty, fire-resistant marine flexible power cable engineered for critical safety circuits that require certified circuit integrity during a fire, along with complete mechanical and environmental protection. It combines Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) insulation, a resilient Polychloroprene (PCP) inner sheath, tinned copper wire braid armor, and a protective PVC outer sheath. This full-protection design ensures fire survival, EMI shielding, and durability for essential emergency systems in demanding marine and industrial installations.

Key Performance Characteristics

  • Certified Fire Resistance (IEC 60331): The cable is engineered to maintain circuit integrity and continue operating for a specified period under direct flame exposure, a critical requirement for life-safety and emergency circuits.

  • Complete Sheath Protection: Features a dual-sheath system: a Polychloroprene (PCP, Neoprene) inner sheath for oil and weather resistance, plus a PVC outer sheath that provides an additional, robust layer of mechanical and environmental protection for the armor and core.

  • Effective EMI Shielding: The tinned copper wire braid armor provides reliable electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding for sensitive control and power circuits.

  • High Flexibility: Utilizes flexible Class 5/6 conductors, ensuring easy installation in complex cable trays and confined spaces, despite its fully sheathed and armored construction.

  • Flame Retardant: Complies with IEC 60332-1 and IEC 60332-3-22, inhibiting the spread of flame along the cable run.

Standards & Compliance

This cable is designed and tested in accordance with key international marine and fire safety standards:

  • IEC 60092-350, 353 (General construction and tests)

  • IEC 60228 (Conductors)

  • IEC 60092-360 (Insulation and sheath materials)

  • IEC 60331 (Fire Resistance)

  • IEC 60332-1 & IEC 60332-3-22 (Flame retardancy tests)

Typical Applications

This cable is specified for critical safety circuits where fire survival must be combined with full mechanical protection and EMI shielding:

  • Marine & Offshore: Essential power and control circuits for emergency generators, fire pumps, alarm systems, and emergency lighting on ships and offshore platforms where enhanced durability is required.

  • Critical Infrastructure: Safety-critical wiring in power plants, industrial facilities, and public buildings where both certified fire-resistant cabling and robust physical protection are mandated.
