CHJVP/NA Marine Communication Cable – XLPE/Mica Fire Resistant, Screened, PVC Sheathed (Non-Armored)

Product Overview

The CHJVP/NA is a Fire Resistant, Screened marine communication cable designed to maintain critical signal integrity in fire emergencies while providing essential electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection. It features a fire-survivable mica glass tape + XLPE insulation system, an overall electromagnetic screen, and a protective PVC outer sheath. As a non-armored cable, it offers excellent flexibility for installation in conduits, trays, and panels. Engineered to meet the IEC 60331 standard for fire resistance, it is ideal for vital telecommunication and data systems on ships, offshore platforms, and in industrial plants where circuit survival under fire is required.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Critical Fire Resistance (IEC 60331): The mica glass tape + XLPE insulation (Code J) is designed to maintain circuit integrity and continue operating under direct flame, ensuring emergency communications and control signals remain active.

  • Essential EMI/RFI Shielding: The integrated overall screen (Code P) protects sensitive telecommunication and data signals from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference, ensuring signal clarity.

  • Flexible & Lightweight Design: Without an armor layer, this cable is highly flexible and easier to install in confined spaces, conduits, and cable trays compared to armored variants.

  • Flame Retardant & Durable: The PVC outer sheath (Code V) provides good abrasion and environmental resistance. The cable complies with Flame Retardant standards (IEC 60332-1 & -3-22).

Applications

This cable is designed for fixed installations within protected environments where fire survival and EMI protection are critical, but heavy mechanical armor is not required:

  • Emergency telecommunication, alarm systems, instrumentation, and data networks within protected enclosures, conduits, or panels on ships and offshore platforms.

  • Critical control and communication circuits in power plants, chemical industry, and industrial facilities where a flexible, fire-resistant, and screened cable is specified.
