Product Overview

Medium Voltage (MV) XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene) Insulated Power Cables designed for efficient power transmission and distribution networks. Available in copper (Cu) or aluminum (Al) conductors, with PVC or PE sheathing, and optional steel tape/steel wire armouring for mechanical protection.

Manufacturing Standard

• Primary Standard: GB/T 12706.2 (Equivalent to IEC 60502-2).

• Alternate Standards: Manufactured to BS, DIN, ICEA, or other international standards upon customer request.

Application

Suitable for fixed installation in power transmission and distribution networks with Rated Voltage U₀/U:

• 3.6/6kV, 6/6kV, 6/10kV, 8.7/10kV, 8.7/15kV, 12/15kV, 12/20kV, 18/20kV, 18/30kV, 21/35kV, 26/35kV

Operating Characteristics

• Rated Voltage (U₀/U): 3.6/6kV to 26/35kV

• Max. Continuous Conductor Temperature: +90°C

• Max. Short-Circuit Conductor Temperature: +250°C (max. duration 5 seconds)

• Min. Installation Ambient Temperature: 0°C

• Minimum Bending Radius:

  • Single-Core Cables: ≥ 20 × Cable Diameter (D)

  • Multi-Core Cables: ≥ 15 × Cable Diameter (D)

Voltage Category (System Earthing)

• Category A (U₀): Ground faults cleared within 1 minute

• Category B (U₀): Ground faults ≤1 hour normally (max 8 hours, ≤125 hours annually)

• Category C (U₀): All systems not covered by A/B
