CUL and CSA Certified ACWU90 Metal Clad Armoured Cable

Product Overview

ACWU90 is a versatile aluminum-conductor armoured cable designed for robust electrical distribution in demanding environments. Certified to CSA standards (C22.2 No. 174 & No. 51) and CUL-listed, it combines corrosion resistance, mechanical protection, and flame-retardant properties for reliable power transmission in wet/dry, exposed, or buried applications.

Key Applications

  • Exposed Wiring: Weather-exposed installations, wet/dry locations.

  • Concealed Wiring: Ducts, conduits, and service entrances (above/below ground).

  • Cable Trays: Ventilated, non-ventilated, and ladder-type trays.

  • Direct Burial: Earth burial without additional conduit.

  • Industrial/Commercial Use: Service entrances, feeders, and branch circuits.

Material Advantages

  • XLPE Insulation: High thermal resistance (90°C rating), excellent dielectric strength.

  • Aluminum Armour: Lightweight, non-magnetic, and corrosion-resistant.

  • PVC Jacket: Flame-retardant (FT4 rating), resists oils, chemicals, and sunlight.

  • Bonding Wire: Ensures grounding continuity and fault-current safety.

Engineering Benefits

  • Durability: Aluminum armour withstands impact, rodents, and environmental stress.

  • Installation Flexibility: Suitable for direct burial, trays, or exposed runs without conduit.

  • Cost-Efficiency: Aluminum conductors reduce weight and material costs vs. copper.

  • Safety Compliance: Meets CSA/CUL flame spread, smoke density, and electrical safety requirements.
