Type 2S Mining Cable – EPR Insulated, CPE Sheathed – AS/NZS 1802 Compliant

Product Overview

These Type 2S Mining Cables are designed for wiring of machines or interconnections between machinery and equipment where rubber cable characteristics are desired. They are also utilized for longwall lighting circuits and can be customized to incorporate pilot cores, control cores, twisted pairs, or screened cores depending on application requirements.

Application Scope:
These cables are suitable for use in distribution installations, electric power stations, and industrial systems. They are designed for fixed assembly in lines with unlimited difference levels, indoor installations, cable ducts, conduits and shafts, over shelves and grills, directly underground in trenches, and in outdoor shelters.

Construction Details

  1. Conductor: Stranded tinned annealed copper for flexibility and corrosion resistance.

  2. Insulation: EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) - providing excellent dielectric properties and thermal endurance.

  3. Pilot/Control Cores (Optional): Tinned copper wire with EPR insulation, available with or without composite screening depending on signal integrity requirements.

  4. Individual Composite Screen (Earth Conductor): Tinned annealed copper braiding interwoven with polyester yarn, serving as both earth conductor and electrical screen.

  5. Optional Elements: May incorporate twisted pairs or additional screened cores for specialized control and communication functions.

  6. Outer Sheath: Heavy duty CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) sheath offering comprehensive protection against mechanical damage, moisture, chemicals, and UV exposure.
