Construction

The cable is constructed with precise layers to ensure optimal electrical and mechanical performance:

  1. Conductor: Annealed flexible stranded tin coated or bare copper, Class 5 to IEC 60228 / HD 383. (Note: original text shows "sAnnealed" – corrected to "Annealed" for clarity).

  2. Conductor Screen: Semi-conductive layer applied over the conductor.

  3. Separator: If needed, a suitable semi-conductive tape between conductor and insulation.

  4. Insulation: High-grade EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) thermosetting compound, exceeding parameters of type 3GI3 to DIN VDE 0207 part 20.

  5. Insulation Screen: Semi-conductive layer with maximum resistivity of 200 Ω·m.

  6. Internal Layer of Sheath: A synthetic thermosetting compound.

  7. Outer Layer of Sheath: A synthetic thermosetting compound, type 5GM5 or 5GM3 to DIN VDE 0207 part 21.

  8. Colour of Outer Jacket: Red (other colours available upon request).
